Will the Next Versace be called Wong?

I believe the next generation of talented designers will come from Asia. There is an artistic and cultural boom in Asia that is being driven by China’s cash. All the world’s top architects, luxury brand shops, museum and galleries are going there. This means that the new generation of Chinese will grow up experiencing the best design that money can buy and will be sent to the West to learn, further developing their eye. The time has come. After many years of consuming the best luxury brands, this new generation will be the new style leaders for the future.

Meeting John Wood, Founder of Room to Read

July is one of the best months to be in London. Ascot, Wimbledon, and the Glastonbury Festival. This year, however, the most interesting event for me was to finally meet in person, John Wood, the dynamic founder of Room to Read, our philanthropy partner.John exemplifies the new generation of philanthropists who brings entrepreneurial spirit with goals and milestones to be able to impact the most lives. He started the organization with one cellphone and running it out of his spare bedroom. Reading his book, “Leaving Microsoft To Change the World,” inspired me not only to work with their organization, but also to start this company.

Room to Read – Taking Action (video)

World change starts with educated children. 121 million children worldwide lack access to primary education. 800 million adults in the world are illiterate. Trekking across London and Paris Fashion Week: Autumn 2010 Collections

I’m very excited to be welcoming some very interesting new brands onboard. It’s been a whirl of non-stop activity as I ran through London and Paris Fashion Week to scout for new brand partners. I was on the road 15 days. In Paris, I went to 9 tradeshows and visited 300 brands in 4 days and lost my voice at the end from pitching non-stop. But my last night in Paris was spent at the launch party of VOGUE TURKEY at the Hotel Crillion. It was a magical party with an amazing view and terrace overlooking the Place de la Concorde. No one does “grandeur” better than the French! Vive La France!

Be Good & Feel Good: Why I Love Bamboo!

Being “good” never looked so hot! Bamboo fabric is the new “hot” thing in sustainability and when I tried on my first bamboo dress, I loved the feel and the look. Its SO comfortable and soft on the body but with a slight resiliency that makes you look good even when you had one chocolate too many or made those secret midnight drive thrus to McDonalds. Bamboo clings to all the RIGHT places. Best of all, you don’t need to iron it! Featherstone & Co and Snapshut are two of our brands working with Bamboo. Who has time for the gym or wear clothes that must be ironed. Looking SEXY was never so easy for the woman on the go!

Touch2Give.com- Global from day one!

Like the rising of the sun from east to west, we literally watched the roll out of the campaign. From our analytics monitor, we could view as people across the world clicked on our link. Ive been awestruck by the power of social media to unite people and the messages coming from Twitter and Facebook. People who I had never met before sent encouraging messages wishing us all the best in our endeavors. Only one word comes to mind. Solidarity.
